Some things change…

Hello… it's been a while… AGAIN! I don't know what's going on with my blog at the moment, i keep meaning to make an entry but stuff happens, I get distracted and other times I just don't have the time to sit and write what I'm thinking.

Tonight I have time, and there are some things I need to cover. So… the Carribean, Antigua. Immense. We flew out at the start of September for a week and apart from the long flight (and not being able to smoke), boy oh boy was it worth it! Before I went away a guy at work said when I get off the plane it'll be so hot i'll think it's the engines but I'd walk further away and it's still hot… then you'll realise it wasn't the engines. Turns out he was completely right! It was damn hot… but not a humid kind of hot, or a dry hot…. just like… well… "hot". We got to the hotel we were staying at which was a part of Sunsail. The hotel itself was really really good. If I could, I'd buy it and have it as my holiday retreat. It had an open reception, a huge pool, a private bay for swimming and another private bay for setting sail. Absolutely brilliant!

It turned out that there was a mix up with one of our rooms where they'd double-booked, so after a few hours we were told we had an apartment waiting for us. Sweeeeet! So we had an apartment for the week with a back patio which led onto grass which in turn led onto the vast ocean. Every night we saw absolutely amazing sunsets, with colours I didn't think could be made in the sky. A few nights there were storms out at sea which gave us the most intense view of lightening, the best kind of light show. I'll be putting up a gallery soon of the pictures we took… most of which are of sunsets.

The week that we went there was a huge group of 120 people staying at our hotel called Ski & Rock. When we first heard of them we thought they were Skiiers and Rock climbers, but no, they're skiiers and dancers :/ Anyway, of these 120 people there was one guy who stood out… Andrew. He literally stood out, but no matter where you looked he would be there. He was like a social butterfly with intimacy issues. He would talk to everyone at least once, but probably wouldn't talk to them again. I noticed him at the airport when we arrived, then on the first day in the restaurant, then the next day we decided to do a SCUBA course… then 20 mins into the course Andrew walks through the door and joins our "class". Ahh dear, from then on he was EVERYWHERE! So… the question is…. have you seen Andrew today?

SCUBA diving!!! Yeah man! An experience I cannot get enough of! We dove to 20ft, which doesn't sound very deep, but to be honest it could've been 1000ft to me because the everything is just so inexplicably amazing down there. I actually can't describe how good it is, and all the colours and stuff, so I'm not really going to try…. needless to say I saw Andrew there too.

On the Thursday (i think) we went to an out-of-town shopping thingy and took a taxi there…. but as we came out and were looking for a taxi this bus pulled up (when i say "bus" i mean "minibus"). We asked where it was going and it was headed our way so we got on… despite the fact that there weren't any seats, as we got on people pulled down these seats and made way for us. All of the people on the bus were Antigua residents and we were the only white tourists, and by God do these people know how to live!

Ok, I've just had to stop writing and go and see someone. I need to get this down while I'm still thinking about it. I'll write more about Antigua later.

I've been seeing someone for a while, for the sake of anonymity she'll be called "Z". Yesterday we decided that I'd go over to hers and spend some time together after work. I said I needed to go home, have something to eat, get a shower, speak to my dad and sister etc and then I'd be over at about 8. I finished work at quarter to seven and drove home, I got changed, grabbed some dinner and had a conversation with my sis by which time I realised it was quarter to eight and I still had to get a shower (it's a 15 minute drive from mine to hers). So I rang Z and told her I'd be running late and then jumped in the shower. When I got out of the shower I had a text message on my phone from Z saying not to bother going over. I thought this was a bit :s so I rang her again and asked her what was up. She said that I was tired and had stuff to do and that she had stuff to do etc. We talked about this earlier in the day, I had some design work to do and she wanted to do some work on a course she's taking at the moment, but we agreed that we could both do what we wanted to do at hers while spending time with each other…

I just stopped writing again and just had to go and see Z to talk… things are changing, but I don't know quite what yet. I'm going to stop writing now because I need time to think about what I'm thinking and what I want to write here. I started writing this at half 9 and it's now 2:40am, so with the disruptions my mind has gone slightly skew-wiff. This should make things interesting!

I'll continue and elaborate in my next post.
