Birthday Shenanigans
Wow wee!!
Phew! Well, I’m 21. It was my birthday on the 6th (last Saturday). I actually had a really good birthday, which I wasn’t expecting at all.
Ever since I was 16 I’ve had immensely shit birthdays. I think I had a good one this year because I wasn’t expecting anything good to happen.
Anyway, my sister came over from Leeds, and it was really good to see her again. I realised that we are on a really similar wavelength last weekend. We don’t really have that much contact with each other. I normally talk to her about once a month on the phone, or via email. So we got a chance to talk as we were walking around Liverpool shopping. It’s a long story about what we were talking about, which I might cover on a future entry. It’s kinda mind-blowing and people will probably think I’m a bit of a freak, but I don’t give a shit, cos I believe in it.
So, my sister, my mum, dad and I went out for lunch and had a really good time. It was the first time we’ve all been together for a meal in years and years. There was a lot of friction between my mum and sister, for a long time and for reasons which would take an eon to explain. So I won’t go into that here. There’s still a bit of friction every now and then, but it’s nowhere near as bad as it was.
So that was good fun!
And then my sister had to go back to Leeds, and because I was having such a good day I decided to go up to Glasgovia and see all my buddies, so off I went.
To cut the narration short, I got to Glasgow and promptly got very pished. I went to the garage (a nighclub in Glasgow) with Jen and Lorraine and ordered in 12 treble vodkas to start us off, so we got drunker faster. I was wearing my new t-shirt which has a scrolling display…. its hard to describe.
So that got a lot of attention, because people just stare at it, reading what it says, and people walk past, then walk back and read it. It’s a kick ass t-shirt!
I had it saying “21 today…. Make my day!”
So, then just before the club closed we were waiting to go upstairs because there was a queue, as it happens we were near the disabled toilets, and there was a rather attractive toilet sign, and I think Jen said something about stealing toilet signs. So I thought it’d be a good idea to nab this sign. So offski I went! Managed to get the sign off the door. Turned around. Bouncer. There. In my face. Sign behind back. Drop on floor. “What sign Mr Bouncer? Ejected from the premises? No problem.” Weeeeee!
Jacket please. Thankyou.
So, after that rather funneh incident I was feeling very drunk and very rock and roll, and very nicotine deprived. So… Martins 24 hour it is! While I was in the queue for Marly Lights I spied a big tub of Cupa Chups, and it was saying to me… “Buy me Rob, BUY ME! BUY ME NOW!”
So, I polietely enquired with the shop till persony man as to how much the entire tub of chup chups cost. Queue dodgy look from the bloke at the till. He must’ve asked me about five times if I was serious. I was. I wanted that tub. So after about five minutes of him couting them out he charged me and I accidentally dropped the lid with chupa chups on the floor, and about 20 lollipops went flying, so I let the people in the queue have them. Quality!
Exit shop. Walk down the street, waiting for buddies to get jackets and exit club. Offering chupa chups to randoms, and I see two police officers, so I walk over to them and offer them lollipops and they took some! HAHAHA! Comedy! They didnt eat them though. I think they were saving them for when they finished duty. Either that or they’d use them to pacify some rugger bugger who’s thrown his toys out of the pram and is beating up some other fella cos he looked at his “burd funny”. Or maybe not.
So, manage to get a bit lost on my travels. Get in taxi. Head back to Jens. Don’t have keys. Fall asleep on the bonnet of my car. Jen arrives. Go inside. Called Foxy, had a proper wee giggel with her. Went to sleep.
Phew! What a night!
Sunday arrives. Went shopping in Braehead. Bought a new phone, Sony Ericsson Z600, vay flashy. Finished shopping. Went to the Union and met up with a few more people like Tom, Iain and Patricia. Had a good time talking and catching up on what everyone’s doing. Cheers guys! It was good to see you all again! Keep in touch!
And then came home. Haven’t done much since really. Just getting used to being 21. Its not all that different, I just have to get used to saying “I’m 21″ when people ask me how old I am. Not that it happens much, but you never know when someone’s going to ask you.
OH! And I got my new domain, which is robbiejobbie.co.uk and with it comes a change in my email address too, it’s now rob@(theaddressofthiswebsite).co.uk if you want to update your address book then that’s wicked.
